You provide your pets thoughtful care.  Not all animals have such thoughtful owners.  Here at Blissful Acres Rescue Reserve, we rescue abandoned, abused, and neglected large animals. BARR provides long term care & housing, with an added goal to educate the public about responsible animal stewardship. Will you partner with us to meet these goals?             Formed in 2004 by Chamber members Linda Ayling and Ed Bartz, BARR is located on 10 acres just west of the Bend Municipal Airport .  As of Fall 2007 we have 26 horses, 2 goats, 5 rabbits, 2 dogs and 3 cats. (this site shows current and past).  These critters consume over 5 tons of hay and more than 2,400 pounds of various grains . . . EACH MONTH. example Betsy before  and after   Funding to provide safe haven for these previously neglected animals comes from private donations, board participation, grants, and fundraising activities.    Yes, we need cash, volunteers, and board members.
